The History of the Rocking Horse Riders
From decades of interests and experiences in trail riding, a small group decided to band together and form a trail ride association. The group purchased a wagon, rigging, and a pair of red mules. 18 individuals formed the Rocking Horse Riders on April 1, 2002, to promote comradery and love of the ride. The association’s first elected officers were President Michael Flores, Vice-President Jay Hubbard, Secretary Tammy Barrientes, Treasurer Pat LeBon, Wagon Boss Gary Flores and Asst. Wagon Boss Troy Flores.
The group began to contact friends and interested individuals to join them on their first trail ride as the newly formed Rocking Horse Riders in April, 2002. As the club has grown it has participated in two major trail rides in Anderson, TX. and in local activities such as the Baytown Christmas Parade in 2003.
